Well, that's not true, I can actually say a bit more. PH makes ads disappear from web sites while allowing you to load them on a case by case basis or to ignore certain sites altogether. The end result is not only do the ads go away but so do the spaces where they would have been so in effect it's as if they never were. I can't tell you how nice it is to surf without some annoying blinking, flashing, animated little box constantly saying "look at me!"
With the most recent version, PH now also automatically blocks ads in NetNewsWire as well. It's well worth the money!
P.S.: And if you weren't aware, Safari automatically blocks pop-ups (and pop-unders or pop-anything) by selecting Block Pop-Up Windows from the Safari menu.
